Job summary

Signet Jewelers in New York is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to support SDS finance, focusing on inventory accounting, COGS, and gross margin optimization.

The role collaborates with operations, IT, and finance to deliver accurate reporting, dashboards, and data-driven insights, leveraging SQL, SAP, and BI tools to drive efficiencies and enhance decision-making across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or Economics; 3–5 years in financial analysis/accounting, preferably inventory/COGS
• CPA or CMA certification is a plus
• Experience in retail/wholesale/e-commerce environments is desirable
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, especially inventory and COGS accounting
• Hands-on with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and financial reporting tools
• Advanced analytical skills and ability to translate data into insights
• Proficient in Excel and visualization tools (Tableau/Power BI)
• Excellent communication skills for senior stakeholders
• Meticulous attention to detail in financial reporting and analysis

Responsibilities

• Analyze and report on key financial metrics, including inventory balances, reserves, gross margin, and COGS
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc financial reports for management
• Support month-end close with journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses
• Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis for inventory and COGS
• Develop dashboards, reports, and KPIs to enhance visibility of financial results
• Maintain pricing and costing data infrastructure and data pipelines
• Collaborate with supply chain, operations, and IT for system optimizations
• Partner with auditors to ensure SOX compliance and proper documentation
