Blue Shield of California seeks a Senior Data Analyst to support provider contract negotiations and competitive intelligence. You will partner with Actuary, Network Compliance, and contracting managers to evaluate health and market trends, translate data into actionable insights, and support network planning and contracting strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with 4 years related experience; Master’s preferred.
• 5 years in Health Care (managed care, academic, or gov't payer).
• Proficient MS Office; Excel/Access; Unix; SQL/PL-SQL; SAS; Tableau.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; good comms and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop evaluations and studies within limited time frames and produce understandable analyses.
• Identify system problems and propose workflow improvements for reporting.
• Define complex reporting needs with stakeholders; design and implement reports.
• Present analytics and reports to leaders for strategic decisions.
• Contribute to task forces for new programs and enhancements of systems.
• Develop dossiers for provider negotiations with financial/regulatory analyses.
• Lead projects coordinating teams and stakeholders.
• Manage reporting and dashboards with data validation and documentation.
• Identify areas for process automation and continuous improvement.
• Complete Ad Hoc assignments as requested.
