Job summary

Blue Shield of CA is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to provide analytical support for provider contract negotiations and to oversee competitive intelligence data. You will partner across functions to evaluate health performance and strategic positioning of contracted entities, and to translate data into actionable insights for network planning and business decisions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or High School Diploma/GED with 4 years of relevant experience; Master’s degree preferred.
5 years of experience in Health Care (managed care, academic, or gov't payer).
MS Office experience, especially Excel and Access; Unix, SQL/PL-SQL; SAS (Base and advanced cert preferred).
Tableau or other visualization tools familiarity.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills.
Practical knowledge of project management preferred.

Responsibilities

Partner cross-functionally to evaluate health, performance, and strategic positioning of contracted entities.
Analyze utilization, financial, regulatory, and market trends; investigate anomalies.
Translate complex data into actionable insights to support network planning and contract strategy.
