Job summary

Instacart is seeking a highly skilled financial data analytics professional to shape the future of our financial data, architecting data models, pipelines, and reporting infrastructure that empower Finance and Accounting with trusted insights at scale.

You will collaborate across technical and business teams to ensure data accuracy, reliability, and compliance while accelerating month-end close and optimizing cloud spend in our AWS environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• 5+ years (7+ preferred) of experience in data analytics or analytics engineering roles
• Strong SQL and cloud data fundamentals, with hands-on experience in Snowflake, dbt, and BI tools (Mode, Looker, Tableau, etc.)
• Experience building and supporting complex data pipelines with emphasis on accuracy, compliance, and traceability
• Familiarity with financial data structures, accounting processes, and enterprise systems (e.g., Oracle, Workday, Salesforce, Adaptive)
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across technical and non-technical teams

Responsibilities

• Bridge Data & Business Needs – translate requirements into scalable data models.
• Own Data Initiatives End-to-End – define and deliver high-impact projects with clear deliverables.
• Build Decision-Making Tools – design dashboards and reporting systems for clear insights.
• Support Revenue Accounting – build data products underpinning revenue recognition.
• Ensure Compliance & Governance – support SOX readiness and data governance standards.
• Maintain Data Integrity – implement validation and reconciliation across datasets.
• Drive Continuous Improvement – identify automation opportunities to improve processes.
• Leverage AI & Next-Gen Analytics – apply AI/ML to model, automate, and deliver insights.
