Job summary

Instacart is seeking a Senior Risk & Compliance Engineer to build automated signal ingestion pipelines and probabilistic risk models that quantify security posture at scale.

This engineering role partners with security, data science and leadership to translate complex model outputs into actionable insights for executives and the board, while advancing a data-driven, automated program across the organization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data engineering with production-level Python and SQL (PostgreSQL, Presto, or SparkSQL).
• 3+ years building and deploying machine learning or probabilistic models in production.

Responsibilities

• Build automated signal ingestion pipelines from security tooling to produce risk intelligence for remediation decisions.
• Develop probabilistic risk models expressing security exposure as distributions and link outputs to investment decisions and board reporting.
• Identify systemic choke points across the attack surface and prioritize remediation by impact.
• Build dashboards and data-driven insights to cascade risk visibility to security, engineering, and executives.
• Support risk quantification efforts translating security exposure into financial terms for board reporting.
