Job summary

Edward Jones seeks a Senior Data Analytics Engineer to drive data-powered decisions across Technology Services. You will design scalable data models, dashboards, and reporting to monitor technology cost, consumption, and performance.

The role centers on trusted data products and governance across finance and infrastructure teams. You will collaborate with technology, product, and operations to deliver actionable insights and automated reporting, enabling strategic decision-making and cost

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering, BI, data engineering, or related discipline.
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience with scalable data models, pipelines, dashboards, and automated reporting.
  • Experience with REST APIs, JSON data structures, and automated data ingestion for analytics.
  • Experience with Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks or similar platforms.
  • Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and large-scale analytic datasets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into insights.
  • Experience developing executive dashboards, KPI scorecards, and operational reporting.

Responsibilities

Join Edward Jones and help drive data-powered decisions across Technology Services. As a Senior Data Analytics Engineer on the cloud and AI cost management (FinOps) team, you'll play a key role in building analytics and reporting solutions that help leaders understand technology cost, consumption, performance, and value.

As part of our mature Infrastructure FinOps team, you'll create trusted data products, scalable reporting, and actionable insights that support strategic decision-making across FinOps, infrastructure services, service portfolio management, and executive leadership. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly analytical professional who enjoys solving complex data challenges and delivering solutions that drive action and decision making for a meaningful business impact.

What You’ll Do
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data models, analytics solutions, dashboards, and automated reporting that support FinOps and performance management for infrastructure services (including hybrid cloud and AI).
  • Transform complex operational, financial, cloud consumption, and technology performance data into actionable insights that drive business outcomes.
  • Develop and enhance executive dashboards, KPI scorecards, monthly operating review materials, and service health reporting.
  • Build and manage trusted data products by integrating data from multiple enterprise systems and ensuring data quality, accuracy, and governance standards are met.
  • Collaborate with technology, product, operations, and finance teams to understand business needs and deliver impactful analytics and reporting solutions.
  • Administer and optimize FinOps tools and processes to enhance cost transparency and operational efficiency.
  • Create and maintain data pipelines and reporting frameworks that improve visibility into technology cost, consumption, performance, and value.
  • Identify opportunities to automate reporting processes, streamline analytics capabilities, and improve data-driven decision-making across Technology Services.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering, business intelligence, data engineering, reporting, or related discipline.
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience developing scalable data models, data pipelines, dashboards, and automated reporting solutions.
  • Experience working with REST APIs, JSON data structures, and automated data ingestion processes to support analytics and reporting solutions.
  • Experience with Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks or similar analytics and business intelligence platforms.
  • Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines and large-scale analytical datasets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable technical and business insights.
  • Experience developing executive dashboards, KPI scorecards, and operational reporting for business and technology stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of data quality, governance, and reporting best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting FinOps, technology cost management, or cloud consumption reporting using platforms such as Cloudability, CloudHealth, or similar tooling.
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms like Azure (preferred), AWS, and/or GCP plus the ability to interpret cloud consumption, utilization, and billing data.
  • Familiarity with Technology Business Management (TBM), service costing, or technology financial management concepts.

Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office four days per week.
