Job summary

Edward Jones is seeking an Analytics Engineer to design and deliver scalable data models, pipelines, and dashboards that enable data-driven decisions. The role collaborates with cross-functional teams to translate complex data into actionable insights and executive-level reports.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in analytics or data engineering, strong SQL, experience with Power BI or Databricks, and a cloud platform background (Azure preferred). This hybrid role supports both Tempe and St.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering, BI, data engineering, or related discipline.
• Advanced SQL skills and experience building scalable data models and data pipelines.
• Experience with REST APIs, JSON, and automated data ingestion for analytics.
• Experience with Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks or similar BI platforms.
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and large analytical datasets.
• Strong analytical and communication skills to translate data into insights and actions.

Responsibilities

• Develop scalable data models, pipelines, and dashboards to support analytics needs.
• Build executive dashboards, KPI scorecards, and operational reports for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business partners to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Ensure data quality, governance, and best practices across reporting platforms.
• Leverage cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP) to optimize cost and performance of analytics solutions.

Position Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering, business intelligence, data engineering, reporting, or related discipline.
• Advanced SQL skills and experience developing scalable data models, data pipelines, dashboards, and automated reporting solutions.
• Experience working with REST APIs, JSON data structures, and automated data ingestion processes to support analytics and reporting solutions.
• Experience with Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks or similar analytics and business intelligence platforms.

• Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines and large-scale analytical datasets.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable technical and business insights.
• Experience developing executive dashboards, KPI scorecards, and operational reporting for business and technology stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of data quality, governance, and reporting best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting FinOps, technology cost management, or cloud consumption reporting using platforms such as Cloudability, CloudHealth, or similar tooling.
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms like Azure (preferred), AWS, and/or GCP plus the ability to interpret cloud consumption, utilization, and billing data.
• Familiarity with Technology Business Management (TBM), service costing, or technology financial management concepts.

Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office four days per week.

Salary Information
