Job summary

Akaasa Technologies is seeking a Sr. Data Analyst to analyze data in our Data Lake and deliver actionable insights to business users. The role involves building dbt models, SQL transformations, and Power BI dashboards to tell compelling data stories.

Hybrid work is available with 3 days in the office, 2 days remote, based in Dallas, TX or Miami, FL. You will collaborate with stakeholders, mentor junior analysts, and help shape data quality and reporting across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain dbt models (staging, intermediate, mart layers).
• Write and optimize SQL for data transformation and analysis.
• Design and enforce data testing/validation (dbt tests, source freshness checks).
• Maintain documentation (dbt docs, data dictionaries, lineage).
• Partner with stakeholders to translate business questions into metrics/dashboards.
• Manage version control workflows for dbt projects (Git-based).
• Monitor data quality and troubleshoot pipeline failures.
• Proficient in advanced data cleaning techniques, such as normalization, handling categorical variables, and merging datasets.
• Experience using Python (pandas, NumPy) or R for complex data manipulation.
• Create interactive dashboards (Power BI), use calculated fields, and design complex visualizations.
• Knowledge of best practices in data visualization and custom visualizations.
• Understanding of data models to support business reporting needs.

• Support CI/CD workflows for dbt deployments
