Job description

N-iX is looking for a Data Analyst who can work closely with local Data SMEs to analyze incoming retailer data, map it to a common data model, configure ingestion pipelines, and monitor data processing workflows in Snowflake. The role requires both technical skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders.

The project focuses on onboarding retailer point-of-sale (POS) sales data into a centralized cloud data warehouse based on Snowflake. This work is part of a larger digital transformation initiative within the organization, aiming to enable advanced analytics and commercial insights across multiple European markets. The onboarding process must be agile to accommodate constant changes in retailer systems and data structures.

Our client is a leading multinational company in the consumer goods industry based in Europe. The organization manages a broad portfolio of well-known brands and places a strong emphasis on data-driven decision-making to support its strategic marketing and executive reporting activities.

We offer a chance to innovate within a collaborative environment alongside skilled architects, engineers, and leaders.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Business Interaction: Collaborate directly with local Data SMEs (subject matter experts) in each market; no direct interaction with senior initiative sponsors is required.
  2. Data Analysis: Understand incoming retailer files, perform data mapping to a common retailer point-of-sale data model.
  3. Configuration and Parametrization: Create configuration scripts (e.g., JSON files) to drive semi-automated ingestion processes. Handle small, parameterized transformations (e.g., conditional logic).
  4. Technical Operations and Monitoring: Trigger and monitor data pipelines after the mapping is completed (data ingestion into Snowflake).
  5. Perform basic data validation and reconciliation (e.g., checking row counts, validating key fields).
  6. Investigate ingestion issues, reprocess data if needed, and rerun transformation jobs.
  7. Support multiple parallel onboarding streams across different countries and retailers at varying stages of maturity.
  8. Adapt quickly to evolving retailer data formats and platform migrations.
Requirements:
  1. 4-5 years of commercial experience at a senior level
  2. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and provide actionable insights
  3. Solid understanding of dimensional data modeling concepts (e.g., star/snowflake schemas, Kimball methodology)
  4. Experience working with semi-structured data formats (e.g., JSON)
  5. Proficient in SQL for data exploration, reporting, and transformation tasks
  6. Strong Excel skills, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools
  7. Familiarity with Snowflake (nice to have)
  8. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and engaging with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data-driven solutions
  9. Exposure to business analysis practices, including documentation, requirement gathering, and stakeholder communication
We offer*:
  • Flexible working format - remote, office-based or flexible
  • A competitive salary and good compensation package
  • Professional development tools (mentorship program, tech talks and trainings, centers of excellence, and more)
  • Active tech communities with regular knowledge sharing
