Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Sr. Forward Deployed Engineer to work with customers, own architecture, and deliver end-to-end data and AI solutions on the Databricks platform.

This role involves hands-on design, implementation, and cross-functional collaboration to translate complex requirements into production-ready systems. Travel up to 20% and zone-based pay with a base salary range of $182,000–$250,208 for Zone 1–4.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms, analytics or software engineering.
• Comfortable writing code in Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Working knowledge of two or more Cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) with expertise in at least one.
• Deep experience with distributed computing with Apache Spark and knowledge of Spark runtime internals.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Working knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models and AI APIs.
• Design and deployment of production end-to-end data architectures combining data pipelines, ML/AI models and user-facing interfaces.
• Experience delivering technical projects with scope, timelines and measurable outcomes.
• Documentation and white-boarding skills.
• Experience with enterprise clients and stakeholder management.
• Willingness to travel ~20% of the time.
• Databricks Certification

Responsibilities

• Lead production solution delivery by designing and building reference architectures and data ingestion pipelines.
• Guide transformational big data projects end-to-end from design to deployment.
• Embed with customer teams to understand challenges and deliver measurable impact.
• Own architecture decisions ensuring security and scalability aligned with Databricks best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering, product and customer teams to deliver engagements.
• Provide feedback to product and support teams for rapid issue resolution.
• Travel with customers up to 20% to drive success.
