Job summary

Schnabel Inc. is seeking a Senior Dam Water Resources Engineer (>12 years) to lead hydrologic and hydraulic evaluations for dams, reservoirs, spillways, and hydraulic structures in Texas.

This role will manage projects, mentor staff, and grow Schnabel's dam engineering practice with client-focused leadership. The candidate will supervise engineering analyses, assist with business development, and coordinate with Schnabel offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field from ABET-accredited program; Master’s preferred.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas or reciprocity ability.
• 12+ years of hydrologic, hydraulic, and water resources engineering experience; Texas experience preferred.
• Experience with dam safety design methodologies, policies and regulations; Texas experience preferred.
• Experience in project/client management, business development, and staff management.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for hydrologic and hydraulic studies on dams and related structures.
• Lead project management from planning through construction with budgets and staffing.
• Develop and maintain client relationships with dam owners and agencies.
• Mentor engineers and staff and support business development initiatives.
• Prepare and review technical reports, calculations, plans, specs, and documentation.
