Fuss & O'Neill, Inc. is seeking a Senior Water Resources / Senior Dam Engineer in Springfield, MA to lead dam repair and dam removal projects across New England. This hybrid role requires deep technical expertise, licenses, and strong mentoring skills to guide teams through planning, design, and permitting phases.

You will oversee scopes, budgets, and schedules, collaborate with regulators, and support business development while advancing resilient infrastructure across communities in the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 10+ years of experience in water resources and dam engineering.
• Strong knowledge of dam safety regulations, codes, and industry standards.
• Experience leading dam repair and removal design efforts.
• Proficiency with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software.
• Working knowledge of CAD-based design tools.
• Strong project management, communication, and mentoring skills.
• Ability to travel up to 10-15% throughout New England.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage dam repair and dam removal projects from planning through design, permitting, and construction support.
• Develop project scopes, fees, schedules, and budgets; oversee contracts and project delivery.
• Prepare and review engineering analyses, technical reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate and support local, state, and federal permitting and grant applications.
• Apply hydrologic and hydraulic modeling to support design and regulatory submissions.
• Collaborate with clients, regulators, and internal multidisciplinary teams across New England.
• Support business development efforts, including funding strategy development and proposals.
• Mentor and provide technical oversight to junior and mid-level engineers.
