Job summary
Cognitell seeks a Dam Safety Engineer IV to join the Bureau of Indian Affairs Safety of Dams program in Lakewood, CO, with a primary focus on hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and dam safety analyses. Responsibilities span risk analysis, emergency management, dam design, inspections, and environmental compliance; travel to field sites may be required.
The role requires broad technical expertise, strong communication, and ability to develop complex documents and presentations for tribal clients
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil, Agricultural, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited institution.
- PE licensure in any state is required.
- 15+ years in design/inspection or analysis of water resources, dam construction, or dam safety-related efforts.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review technical dam safety work products with hydraulic and hydrologic modeling focus.
- Provide technical guidance and oversight for the Bureau of Indian Affairs dam safety programs.
- Lead and participate in emergency planning and EAP development.
- Travel to field locations as needed and present to governmental and tribal groups.
