Job summary

Chestnut Labs seeks an experienced accounting leader to oversee general milk accounting from farm to customer, including ledgers, AP, payroll, and reporting for management. You will supervise 3–5 staff, drive budgeting, balance sheet prep, and ensure DFA policy compliance.

Strong SAP and Excel skills, CPA preferred. The role requires attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced dairy-related environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 7+ years progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or management experience.
• CPA preferred.
• Experience with SAP strongly preferred.
• Dairy or manufacturing industry experience beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and coordinate activities of general accounting functions including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, to ensure accurate and timely recording and reporting of all financial results.
• Manage, or support in hiring, termination, training, reviews, and compensation of accounting personnel within the area.
• Assist with financial information needed for forecasting monthly margins.
• Coordinate and assist in preparation of balance sheet accounts and financial statements.
• Assist in annual budget preparation for the Council.
• Respond to inquiries from farmer-owners, customers, vendors and employees.
