Job summary

Chipton-Ross Inc. is seeking an experienced Durability & Damage Tolerance (DaDT) Analysis Engineer for a contract in Oklahoma City, OK.

The role involves leading structural DaDT analyses, validating crack growth, and ensuring compliance with ASIP and airframe integrity standards. The candidate should have 10+ years of experience in structural analysis and fracture/fatigue/DaDT, with strong communication skills and exposure to aerospace primary structure environments.

Qualifications

Independently construct, execute, review and manage structural FEM models for DaDT.
Expertise in linear elastic fracture mechanics.
Expertise with Paris Law and Spectrum Analysis.
Experience with cracking growth tools (NASGRO, AFGROW, GROWTH, NASA/FLAGRO, BEAS).
10+ years in structural analysis.
10+ years in fracture, fatigue, and/or DaDT analysis.
Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with stress, DaDT analysis, and FEM methodology.
Perform failsafe analyses and durability life calculations; determine damage tolerance for fracture-critical parts.
Define development requirements for analytical methods and FEM models to support airframe design.
Calculate inspection intervals based on crack growth rates for fleet aircraft.
Develop and use FEMs for crack growth coefficients and load path analyses.
Lead repair development, integration and documentation of structural requirements.
Support in-service products by investigating failures and proposing improvements.
