Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a Cytotechnologist III in Berkeley, California. Under the Pathology Department Manager, you will perform cytology workflows, prepare and stain slides, and help ensure diagnostic quality through microscopic analysis.

Requirements include a BS degree in science or related field, CA Cytotechnologist license, and at least 3 years of cytology experience. Strong analytical and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 36 months related experience as a Cytotechnologist.
• BS degree in science or related field.
• Cytotechnologist License (California) required.
• Ability to describe cytologic conditions and provide differential diagnoses in writing.

Responsibilities

• Prepares microscopic slides from blood, scrapings, or other body fluids.
• Prepares and stains slides to preserve specimens and enhance visibility.
• Examines slides under microscope to identify abnormalities in cell structure.
• Reports negative Pap smears as final diagnosis and abnormal results to Pathologist.
• Reports preliminary findings for non-GYN cytology to Pathologist.
• Coordinates activities in cytology laboratory.
• Performs other related duties as necessary.
• Adheres to Corporate compliance and confidentiality requirements.
