Job summary

Medical Diagnostic Laboratories (MDL) seeks a Senior Cytotechnologist to perform specialized microscopic screening and interpretation of gynecological and non-gynecological specimens. This role requires ASCP certification and a minimum of five years of related experience, with experience in Thin-Prep imaging being a plus.

The position reports to Supervisory cytotechnologists and pathologists, ensuring data accuracy and adherence to safety guidelines in a CLIA-certified laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• ASCP Board Certification required.
• Experience with Thin-Prep Imaging System; Review Scope a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in related science.
• Minimum of 5 years related experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform microscopic evaluation of cellular samples and provide cytological interpretations.
• Correlate findings with Supervisory cytotechnologist and pathologists.
• Record specimen and results data accurately.
• Maintain timely turnaround times for specimen processing.
• Ensure safe handling and maintenance of cytology equipment and slides.

Senior Cytotechnologist

Job Summary: Medical Diagnostic Laboratories (MDL), a member of Genesis Biotechnology Group, is a CLIA certified clinical laboratory with multiple state licensing, specializing in state of the art, automated DNA based molecular analysis of a variety of chronic and infectious illnesses. MDL specializes and performs Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) with a larger menu of testing available in the field of infectious disease. Our main theme of research is in the field of Gynecology, Infectious Diseases, Infectious Arthritis, Tick-borne Diseases, Mycology, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS). The Senior Cytotechnologist performs specialized and complex testing that involves microscopic screening and evaluation of gynecological and non-gynecological specimens; provides interpretations to the Supervisory cytotechnologist and pathologists.

Essential Functions:

• Performs thorough and accurate microscopic evaluation of cellular samples using recognized criteria to make cytological interpretations.
• Correlates findings with supervisory cytotechnologist and pathologists.
• Accurately records all appropriate specimen and results data.
• Assures individual specimen turnaround times are consistent with overall laboratory expectations.
• Assures cytological activities and equipment are used and maintained safely and in accordance with laboratory procedures.
• Appropriate established laboratory techniques are used in the preparation of quality slides from cytological samples.
• Performs other similar or related duties as required or assigned.

Job Qualifications: General Knowledge,Skills, and Abilities (KSA’s) required

• ASCP Board Certification
• Experience with Thin-Prep Imaging System; Review Scope a plus

• Ability to sit, stand, walk and repetitive motion: (microscopic screening).
• Proficient visual and audio skills

Education and Certifications:
