Job summary

Medical Diagnostic Laboratories, LLC is seeking a Cytology Accessioner to perform technical preparation of cytology slides from ThinPrep samples and screen slides for quality control. Responsibilities include identifying specimens, creating worksheets in dMDL, labeling imaging slides, and operating ThinPrep Imaging System.

Qualifications include a high school education (medical experience preferred) and potential 3-month accessioner training.

• Load and operate ThinPrep Imaging System.
• Process sample worksheets.
• Manual preparation of cytology slides using GAA protocol.
• Coordinate waste disposal.
• Coordinate with Cytology manager.
• Record keeping and safety compliance.
• Maintain patient privacy.
• Work as a team member and be accountable for own responsibilities.
• Deliver information in a timely and understandable manner.
• Proactively diagnose and resolve problems.
• Maintain productive work habits and high accuracy.

• Create sample worksheets utilizing dMDL.
• Label cytology imaging slides with patient identifiers.
• Preparing slides utilizing ThinPrep 2000

• Coordination of waste disposal
• Coordination with Cytology manager
• Record keeping
• Assures activities are conducted in a safe manner and materials are handled according to safety guidelines.

Job Qualifications

General Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA’s) required

• 3 month Clinical Laboratory Accessioner Training preferred

Physical Demands

• Ability to sit, stand, walk and perform repetitive motion
• Proficient visual and audio skills

Working Conditions

• May be exposed to chemicals, body fluids.
