Job summary

Sila Nanotechnologies, Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Cylindrical Cell Manufacturing Design Engineer to specify new production lines, select equipment, coordinate installation, and develop processes for handoff to operations.

You’ll work with multiple teams to apply our cell‑level innovation and battery engineering expertise toward state‑of‑the‑art cylindrical cells. Ideal candidates bring 7+ years in lithium‑ion battery cell manufacturing, strong mechanical fundamentals, and proven

Qualifications

Minimum 7 years of lithium-ion battery cell manufacturing experience, with direct involvement in cylindrical cell equipment design and line bring-up
Strong mechanical fundamentals applied to design choices and process development
Proven ability to manage complex projects across internal teams and external vendors
Experience incorporating safety, automation, and data collection into equipment specs
Excellent written and oral communication with durable knowledge bases

Responsibilities

Define production line specifications and equipment for cell manufacturing
Lead supplier engagements, reviews, and track project execution
Oversee equipment installation and acceptance testing, including travel to supplier facilities
Direct process development and handoff to operations
Collaborate across teams to leverage innovation in anode manufacturing and battery engineering
