Job summary

United Launch Alliance (ULA) is seeking a seasoned cybersecurity architect to design secure enterprise architectures across Azure, AWS, and hybrid environments. You will translate complex requirements into practical architectures, lead IAM and Zero Trust initiatives, and collaborate with IT, DevOps, and engineering teams to ensure secure development and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field from an accredited college or university
• 4+ years in cybersecurity, security engineering, or security architecture
• 3+ years designing enterprise, cloud, or engineering system security architecture
• Strong background across identity, networking, cloud platforms, endpoint security, and system architecture
• Practical experience with NIST SP 800‑171, DFARS 7012, ISO 27001, and regulated-data environments
• Ability to translate requirements into clear architecture and communicate rationale behind decisions
• Proven ability to collaborate across IT, engineering, manufacturing, DevOps, GTC, and Legal
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Responsibilities

• Interpret and communicate cybersecurity and contractual requirements and convert them into actionable architecture
• Design secure architectures across Azure/GCC‑H, AWS, SaaS platforms, hybrid environments, identity systems, and workflows
• Develop architectural patterns for IAM, Zero Trust, endpoint protection, logging/monitoring, encryption, secure data flows, cloud posture
• Conduct risk-based architectural analysis and present balanced security options to stakeholders
• Review new systems and cloud services to ensure secure design and fit
• Collaborate with IT, Infrastructure, DevOps, Engineering, and Mission teams to embed security early in design
• Communicate architectural decisions clearly and build consensus across teams
