Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a Cybersecurity Program Lead to guide security, compliance, and risk management across customer apps, networks, and information systems. The role blends hands-on execution with high-level coordination in a federal contractor setting.

Requires active Secret clearance, a Bachelor’s in a related field, 8+ years in cybersecurity, and DoD/federal program experience. CSWF and Security+ certifications are preferred; autonomy and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field.
• 8+ years of cybersecurity, information assurance, or risk management experience.
• Experience with DoD/federal programs is preferred.
• CSWF certification with CompTIA Security+ or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead cybersecurity, compliance, risk management across applications, networks, and information systems.
• Support certification and accreditation activities, develop security documentation, and track remediation.
• Apply RMF, NIST controls, STIGs, and ATO package support to meet security requirements.
• Develop and oversee system security plans, contingency plans, and assessment materials.
• Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments and drive remediation actions.
• Oversee secure configuration, security tool validation, and continuous monitoring.
• Coordinate with developers, program managers, security personnel, and customer representatives.
• Lead meetings and briefings to communicate security status and progress.
• Review architectures and program deliverables to strengthen security posture.
