Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Incident Coordinator to lead end-to-end coordination of complex security incidents across GM's ecosystem. You will collaborate with Security Operations, Incident Handlers, application security, and infrastructure teams to contain, eradicate, and recover from incidents while communicating clearly to leadership.

The role emphasizes governance, metrics, and post-incident reviews, with opportunities to mentor others and improve incident response

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to evaluate data and communicate defensible conclusions.
• Experience coordinating complex cybersecurity incidents across multiple technical and business stakeholders.
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills to brief senior leaders and translate risk into business terms.
• Judgment under pressure with timely decision-making in ambiguous situations.
• Customer service and relationship-management with cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience coaching or mentoring and fostering operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead coordination of complex cybersecurity incidents from triage to containment and recovery.
• Serve as the primary point of contact between GM Security Operations and other teams.
• Document victim, asset, and business-impact information to support risk-based decisions.
• Track incident status, logs, and escalation, and communicate to leadership.
• Ensure activities align with policies and governance; drive post-incident reviews and improvements.
• Mentor incident coordinators and contribute to playbooks, tooling, and metrics.
