Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Incident Coordinator to lead end-to-end incident response for high-impact events. You will coordinate across Security Operations, application security, and infrastructure teams, translating technical findings into business risk decisions while maintaining governance and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to translate technical risk into business impact.
• Proven experience coordinating complex cybersecurity incidents across multiple teams.
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills for briefing senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end coordination of complex cybersecurity incidents from triage to post-incident review.
• Serve as primary coordination point between GM Security Operations and multiple technical teams.
• Apply containment and recovery methods with business continuity considerations.
• Collect and document incident data to support risk-based decisions.
• Maintain incident status, logs, and stakeholder communications throughout the lifecycle.
• Communicate actions, risks, and findings to technical and non-technical audiences including leadership.
• Identify dependencies, remove blockers, and drive timely incident response across teams.
• Ensure activities align with policies, standards, and governance requirements.
• Track metrics and contribute to post-incident reviews for continuous improvement.
• Coach and mentor other incident coordinators to improve governance and decision-making.
