Job summary

PSEG Long Island is seeking an experienced Senior Cyber Security Incident Response Lead to manage and perform hands-on incident response and threat hunting. You will guide the team, conduct in-depth investigations, and drive containment and response actions with IT teams.

You will use SIEM, EDR/XDR, email security, DNS filtering, and network security tools to analyze artifacts and support forensic investigations. Hybrid work arrangement is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 10+ years of cybersecurity experience without a degree.
• Experience with security technologies including SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, DLP, encryption, proxies, and network access control.
• Strong incident response, threat analysis, and SIEM experience.
• Experience developing and implementing incident response processes and procedures.
• Ability to assess cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors.
• Broad knowledge of Windows, networks, operating systems, and security tools.
• Experience with firewalls, vulnerability management, IAM, malware protection, and security event analysis.
• Knowledge of cloud security and protecting cloud environments.
• Experience designing automated security response workflows.
• Ability to work independently and in a team; strong collaboration.
• Strong communication with technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and remediate email, endpoint, threat intel, and network threats; provide forensic support.
• Provide after-hours support for response activities.
• Collaborate with Cybersecurity teams to improve security capabilities and responses.
• Assist with projects to implement advanced security technologies in cloud, networks, endpoints, and email.
• Operate SIEM, SOAR, threat intel platforms, EDR, cloud security products, and other security tools.
• Perform threat analysis using standard frameworks and techniques.
• Review security plans and policies to improve environmental security.
• Maintain metrics, playbooks, and documentation for the cybersecurity program.
• Produce operational and tactical threat intel reports.
• Lead investigations and coordinate incident response activities.
