Job summary

New York Life is seeking a Cyber Incident Response Lead to drive enterprise incident response from activation through recovery. You will coordinate with security operations, threat intel, forensics, legal, privacy, and business units to manage high-severity incidents with executive visibility.

The role requires a strong background in incident management, NIST-based processes, and a maturity in communicating risk and status to senior leadership in a regulated financial services environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent work experience.
• Eight+ years in cyber security/tech with four+ years in incident response or management; prior leadership.
• Cybersecurity certifications preferred (e.g., GCIH, GCFA, CISSP, CISM).

Responsibilities

• Act as enterprise Incident Commander for cybersecurity incidents with end-to-end accountability.
• Own declaration, severity classification, escalation, and post-incident activity.
• Direct cross-functional response across SOC, threat intel, forensics, cloud, network, and apps.
• Lead containment, eradication, and secure recovery in partnership with tech owners.
• Oversee evidence handling, chain of custody, and regulatory-ready documentation.
