Job summary

Trace3 in Annapolis, MD is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer III to design, implement, and maintain advanced security capabilities across enterprise environments. This onsite role contributes to security architecture, threat detection, vulnerability management, and incident response.

The position requires 8+ years of cybersecurity experience, strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Python), and a track record with SIEM, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and regulatory frameworks such as NIST RMF/ISO

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, CS, Info Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience
• 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering or information security
• Experience implementing and managing enterprise security tools (SIEM, endpoint protection, firewalls, vulnerability management)
• Strong knowledge of network security, identity management, and security architecture
• Experience with cloud security in AWS or Microsoft Azure
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Experience supporting federal government or regulated environments
• Knowledge of secure system architecture and DevSecOps practices
• Experience with security automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python)

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise security solutions (firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, IAM)
• Develop and enforce security architecture standards across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid
• Create ATO plans to support CI/CD pipelines
• Perform security assessments and risk analyses for new technologies
• Monitor security events using SIEM and related tools
• Lead investigations and support incident response activities
• Threat hunting and IOC analysis
• Coordinate containment, remediation, and recovery from incidents
• Integrate security controls into system deployments
• Conduct vulnerability scanning and remediation management
• Assess vulnerabilities and recommend mitigations
• Support patch management and security configuration compliance
• Evaluate third-party tools for security risks
• Ensure compliance with standards and regulatory requirements
• Assist with security audits and system authorization documents
