Job summary

American Express is seeking a cybersecurity engineering leader to protect Salesforce-based platforms and data across our business. You will partner with engineering, product, and security teams to identify risks, design controls, and guide secure implementations in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires strong experience in cybersecurity, Salesforce security considerations, and collaboration across multiple functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or comparable technical experience.
• Strong cybersecurity principles and risk mitigation knowledge.
• Salesforce security considerations knowledge including access and data protection.
• IAM, data protection, secure integrations expertise.
• Security controls across the technology lifecycle understanding.
• Awareness of cloud/SaaS security concepts and governance.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled technologies from a security perspective.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on cybersecurity initiatives for Salesforce-based Sales Platforms.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and business teams to identify risks and align with security requirements.
• Apply security engineering principles to design and manage controls.
• Evaluate security considerations for Salesforce configurations, integrations, and data protection.
• Assess solutions for cybersecurity risks and recommend controls or remediation.
• Work with platform teams and stakeholders to embed security into solutions.
• Support secure architecture, standards, and best practices in cybersecurity.
• Mentor engineers and cross-functional colleagues on security engineering.
• Investigate complex security challenges and propose risk-based solutions.
• Foster collaboration across cybersecurity, engineering, product, and business teams.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of security practices and controls.
• Evaluate emerging technologies from a cybersecurity viewpoint and guide responsible adoption.
