Job summary

Tamayo Federal Solutions seeks a senior cybersecurity engineer to support U.S. Navy aircraft carrier systems, providing senior cybersecurity engineering, system security development, RMF support, and mission-critical technical expertise for platform network integration.

The role requires deep cybersecurity, systems engineering judgment, and collaboration to align with DoD frameworks and NAVSEA policies, with readiness to lead technical activities across assessments and authorizations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field as listed in the qualifications.
• Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in computer design, software development, or computer network security.
• Experience supporting U.S. Navy programs or operations.
• Experience in cybersecurity, cyber defense engineering, and cybersecurity management.
• Active Top Secret clearance required; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Review testing and validation activities to ensure system functionality and compliance with cybersecurity standards.
• Develop technical documentation, including schematics, specifications, and system architecture diagrams.
• Participate in engineering reviews, audits, and program milestone meetings.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, cybersecurity trends, and applicable industry practices.
• Provide RMF support and assist with achieving Authority to Operate (ATO) for carrier systems.
• Define system security requirements, risk assessments, and cybersecurity T&E.
• Support the integration of T&E into cybersecurity specifications for ship design.
• Advise on hardening solutions to increase survivability and resilience.
• Support platform-based network integration, IT, and communications for cybersecurity.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Network Security, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics with a concentration in computer science, or a related discipline
