Job summary

ABACUS is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to collaborate across Security, Engineering and Service teams, addressing escalated issues, managing SOC escalations, and supporting new security initiatives. We seek a leader with strong technical and interpersonal skills, familiar with industry tools, able to work under pressure and mentor junior teammates.

The role requires extensive experience in incident response, tooling, and security architecture, with the ability to communicate complex topics

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years' experience in a system engineering or technical security role.
Bachelor's Degree in MIS, Computer Science or similar focus.
MCSE or equivalent certification a plus.
Security certificates such as CompTIA CySA, Security+ and Network+ or ISC-2 CCSP/SSCP are a plus.

Responsibilities

High interaction with Security, Engineering and Service teams, responding to escalated issues promptly.
Respond to alerts from SOC escalations and security tooling to maintain platform health.
Lead incident coordination between internal and external entities per regulatory requirements.
Communicate effectively with management, peers and clients using clear security language.
Maintain awareness of security and control issues in emerging technologies.
Scope, implement and support new security projects/initiatives.
Own and follow up on pending issues to resolution.
