Job summary

ABACUS is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to join our Security, Engineering, and Service teams to address escalated issues and support new security initiatives. You will mentor junior engineers, lead incident coordination, and ensure health and security of our platform.

Ideal candidates bring hands-on experience with incident response, cloud security, and common security tools, plus strong communication skills to work with management and clients under pressure.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a systems engineering or security role.
• BS/MS in MIS, Computer Science or related field.
• Microsoft Certification (MCSE) or equivalent is a plus.
• Microsoft Cloud Security certifications preferred.
• Security certifications such as CISSP, Security+ and Network+, CISA, ISC2 CC.

Responsibilities

• Interact with Security, Engineering, and Service teams to address escalated issues.
• Respond to SOC escalations and maintain health and security of the platform.
• Lead incident coordination with internal and external entities per regulatory requirements.
• Communicate security concepts clearly to management, peers, and clients.
• Maintain awareness of security and control issues in emerging technologies.
• Scope, implement and support new security projects and initiatives.
• Own and follow up on issues to resolution.
• Occasional on-call nights, weekends and emergencies.

**Job Summary:**

As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will collaborate closely with Cybersecurity, Engineering, and Service teams to address escalated issues, manageSOCescalations, and support new security initiatives. We are looking for an Engineer with leadership presence,possessingstrong technical and interpersonal skills, familiarity with industry-standard tools, the ability to work under pressure, and the ability to mentor junior members of the team.

Responsibilities (including, but not limited to the following):

• High interaction with the Security, Engineering and Service teams, responding to escalated issues ina timelyfashion
• Respond and action alerts from ourSOCescalationsandsecuritytoolingtomaintainhealth and security of our platform
• LeadIncidentcoordination betweeninternal and externalentitiesin alignment with regulatory requirements
• Utilize interpersonal and technical skills to effectively communicate with management, peers, and clients
• Maintain an awareness of security and control issues in emerging technologies
• Ability to scope, implement and support new security projects/initiatives
• Ownership and follow up of pending issues to resolution

Skills:

• Familiarity with industry standard tools and applications (such as Palo Alto,Cisco Meraki,SonicWall,Fortigate,SentinelOne,ThreatLocker, MSDefender,G-Suite,Content Filtering,ProtectiveDNS)
• Heavy experience withthe Incident Response lifecycle
• Familiarity with Microsoft (Office365 & Azure) and Citrix (VirtualApps&Desktops) technologies
• Familiaritywithopen-sourceintelligence gathering
• Scriptingabilityand experienceworking with API endpoints such as MSGraph.
• Ability to navigate andutilizea ticketing system (such as ConnectWise or Service Now)
• Experience with change management and security remediation processes
• Experience with security documentation, technical and policy writing
• Ability to deliver technical/security information or concepts in a user-friendly format
• Takes ownership and excels in both independent and team project work
• Ability to work under pressure and with short deadlines
• Occasional on call nights, weekend and emergency on call is required within this role.

Qualifications:
