Rocket Lab in Long Beach, CA seeks a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer II with Secret Clearance to design, implement, and maintain security across SDA programs. Responsibilities include security assessments, policy development, and incident response while collaborating with IT and development teams to embed security in the software lifecycle.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in CS/InfoSec, active Secret clearance, 8+ years of relevant experience, and advanced security certifications.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• Active Secret security clearance required upon hire.
• 8+ years of experience in system security engineering or a related role.
• 8140 Intermediate or Advanced certification (e.g. Security+, Cloud+, CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST 800, ISO 27001, CIS Controls).
• Proficiency in security tools and technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, endpoint protection).
• Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) and securing hybrid environments.

Responsabilidades

• Design, implement, and manage security solutions to protect IT infrastructure.
• Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests.
• Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards.
• Monitor security systems and respond to incidents with remediation.
• Collaborate with IT and development teams to embed security in SDLC.
• Stay current with security trends and propose improvements.
• Mentor junior security engineers and IT staff.
