Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to safeguard the company's technology ecosystem. You will lead efforts to detect, prevent, and respond to cyber threats, specializing in endpoint, email, and web security, and improve protections across Windows, Linux, and cloud environments.

The role requires 5+ years of relevant experience, a Bachelor's degree in a related field, and hands-on expertise with Azure, AWS, endpoint protection, and WAF management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, cybersecurity, EE or related field and 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with MS Azure and AWS cloud security, endpoint protection, and email threat protection.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Active Directory security and log analysis.
• Proactive problem-solving and collaboration across IT and security teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain cybersecurity controls (firewalls, IDS/IPS, access controls).
• Manage and optimize endpoint, email, and network security solutions; monitor logs and events.
• Lead incident response: investigate alerts, perform log analytics, and contain threats.
• Test and enforce secure cloud and virtualization deployments across environments.
• Create SOPs for configuration, maintenance, and change management; support monitoring tools.
• Collaborate with IT, Operations, and Security to embed security into processes.
