Job summary

QinetiQ US is seeking a highly technical Senior Cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Security Control Assessor (SCA) in Chantilly, VA. You will advise AO and CIO on continuous risk determinations, shaping architecture and security across multi‑domain platforms with rapid timelines.

The role demands deep engineering and integration experience, hands‑on threat modeling, RMF expertise, and DoD security posture adherence, including DoD Zero Trust pillars and CDS deployments.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI and SAP accesses.
• Minimum of twelve (12) years of demonstrated IT/cybersecurity experience including Assessment & Authorization (A&A).
• Significant multi‑domain experience with SAP and SCI Systems, PIT and cloud environments, Cross Domain Solutions.
• DoD 8140.01 / 8570.01‑M IA WIP baseline certification at IAT III or IAM III level (e.g., CISSP, CISM).
• Experience in defense innovation ecosystem with rapid prototyping, test environments, and PIT systems.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Advisement & Lifecycle Integration: ensure security is baked in at SRR, PDR, and CDR.
• DevSecOps Alignment: guide teams in automated security testing and continuous compliance in Agile pipelines.
• Threat Modeling: perform system‑level threat modeling and recommend mitigations before code or hardware procurement.
• Technical Validation: review vulnerability scans, STIGs, and penetration test reports; map findings to operational risk.
• RMF Execution: apply NIST SP 800-53 Rev 5, CNSSI 1253, DoD 8510.01, ICD 503 controls; translate to mission risk decisions.
• Zero Trust & Architecture: drive DoD Zero Trust pillars across SCO portfolios; implement CDS in classified environments.
• Emerging Technology Evaluation: monitor AI/ML, edge computing, and post‑quantum crypto for threat adaptation.
