Job summary

Truist seeks a Cyber Hunt & Respond Senior Engineer to join the 24x7 Cyber Fusion Center, leading threat hunting and incident response efforts. The role combines digital forensics expertise with proactive analytics to detect, investigate, and remediate sophisticated cyber threats.

The Senior Engineer acts as a technical consultant, mentors peers, and drives advanced hunting methodologies while engaging with business partners to strengthen security posture. On-call coverage is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, and work-related experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in security engineering or related cybersecurity roles.
• Deep specialized knowledge in cybersecurity principles, theories, and concepts.
• Proven experience in software development lifecycle security practices.
• Deep knowledge of threat modeling, security testing, and penetration testing.
• Experience implementing and managing complex information security technologies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct proactive threat hunting activities to identify unknown or undetected threats.
• Develop, test, and validate threat-hunting hypotheses using multiple data sources.
• Perform digital forensics and incident response activities from investigation to recovery.
• Analyze endpoint, network, log, and forensic data to identify malicious activity and impact.
• Leverage automation and programming to process large datasets and improve detection.
• Create and maintain searches, visualizations, and advanced detection methodologies.
