Job summary

The Cyber Hunt & Respond Senior Engineer at Truist Financial Corporation is an advanced, after-hours role within the 24/7 Cyber Fusion Center. This position focuses on proactive threat hunting and reactive incident response to defend enterprise environments.

You will develop hypotheses, perform digital forensics, analyze data, and collaborate with security, technology, and business teams. The role requires 7+ years in security engineering and strong knowledge of threat modeling and security

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, and work-related experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in security engineering or related cybersecurity roles.
• Deep specialized knowledge in cybersecurity principles, theories, and concepts.
• Proven experience in software development lifecycle security practices.
• Deep knowledge of threat modeling, security testing, and penetration testing.
• Experience implementing and managing complex information security technologies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct proactive threat hunting across enterprise environments.
• Develop, test, and validate threat-hunting hypotheses using data sources.
• Perform digital forensics and incident response activities.
• Analyze endpoint, network, packet, log, and forensic data.
• Leverage automation and programming techniques to process large datasets.
• Create and maintain searches, visualizations, and advanced detection methodologies.
• Investigate suspicious artifacts and activities.
• Collaborate with security, technology, and business teams to enhance threat visibility.
• Provide technical consultation on cybersecurity incidents and threat-hunting initiatives.
• Present findings and lessons learned to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Mentor team members in threat hunting and related disciplines.
