Job summary

Peraton seeks a Senior Cyber Systems Engineer to support on-site in Annapolis Junction, MD or Washington D.C. You will analyze requirements, develop secure system architectures, and lead engineering efforts across VMware, Linux, and Windows environments to implement JSIG controls.

Expect collaboration with government stakeholders and ongoing lifecycle management. Required Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and 5+ years in cyber engineering with focus on secure architecture; DoD RMF

Qualifications

• Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility.
• 8+ years with BS/BA; 6+ years with MS/MA; 4 years of Cyber/Systems Engineering in lieu of degree.
• BS in Systems Engineering, CS, Information Systems, Cyber Security, Engineering Science, or related field.
• 5+ years experience on programs of similar scope with focus on security controls and secure architecture.
• Strong familiarity with JSIG, RMF, and SAP/HPC environments.
• IAT II/III certification or IASAE II; hands-on VMware, RHCSA, CCNA/CCNP Security desirable.

Responsibilities

• Analyze user requirements, CONOPS and architectures to develop secure system requirements.
• Develop architecture and design docs mapping to JSIG security controls.
• Provide technical direction for engineering, interfacing, integration and testing.
• Elicit requirements, allocate functions, and implement JSIG controls across VMware, Linux, Windows.
• Analyze requirements and participate in secure design and development activities.
• Formulate security-focused requirements and feasibility studies for new cyber tools.
• Guide SEMP and SITP planning to validate JSIG security controls.
• Introduce secure plans, designs, and systems into operations.
• Maintain technical integrity and communicate with government stakeholders and engineers.
• Develop DoDAF-aligned operational/technical views for secure SOA solutions.
• Conduct end-to-end AoA analyses balancing performance and security posture.
• Develop design alternatives considering life-cycle costs and risk.
• Ensure configuration control to prevent security drift and maintain baselines.
• Utilize models, simulations and prototyping to mitigate risk.
