Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Cyber Software Engineer to support our onsite program in Annapolis Junction, MD. You will design, develop, and secure enterprise applications, implementing RMF and JSIG controls across Windows and Linux environments.

You will create automation scripts (PowerShell), lead RMF/ATO efforts, and drive secure software lifecycle from design through deployment. Strong background in DoD cyber-ready infrastructure and collaboration with government stakeholders is required.

Qualifications

• Requires BS/BA with 8 years of experience; MS and 6 years; 4 additional years may substitute.
• Top Secret with SCI eligibility required.
• DoD 8570 IAT II or CASP+ certifications required.
• 5 years in a Software Engineering or senior admin role within a DoD/IC environment.
• Leading projects involving server/app migrations and upgrades.
• RMF expertise, including leading ATO efforts and security documentation.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft enterprise platforms or RHEL; PowerShell scripting.
• Experience with DISA STIGs, vulnerability remediation, and security hardening.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and integrate secure software solutions for enterprise apps.
• Implement security controls, Zero Trust, and baselines per JSIG and RMF.
• Develop PowerShell scripts and automation for security tasks.
• Serve as RMF SME and produce SSPs and assessment artifacts.
• Lead RMF/A&A activities and support security documentation.
• Lead engineering and migration of enterprise platforms for HA/DR.
• Provide Tier III support and perform root cause analysis.
• Guide system lifecycle from requirements through deployment and ops.
• Collaborate with government stakeholders and maintain SOPs.
• Apply secure coding practices and document architecture.
