Job summary

LMI is seeking a senior Cyber Systems Engineer/AI Governance Lead/Solutions Architect to provide technical leadership for VA modernization initiatives, spanning enterprise architecture, AI governance, data, cloud, and automation.

The role is hybrid with about 25% onsite at LMI's Tysons headquarters, requiring deep architecture judgment, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to translate policy and security requirements into implementable design decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field; minimum 10+ years in architecture or modernization.
• Demonstrated depth across applications, data, cloud, and security with lifecycle tradeoffs.
• Ability to translate policy and risk into practical architecture decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead independent solution-architecture and AI/technology-governance reviews for VA modernization.
• Evaluate enterprise-fit options considering reuse, integration, scalability, and cost.
• Define risk tiers and governance criteria proportionate to data sensitivity and impact.
• Translate policy, privacy, and enterprise standards into architecture requirements and controls.
• Review high-risk AI/data use cases and determine need for validation or escalation.
• Develop reusable reference architectures and governance templates to accelerate programs.
