Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Cyber Splunk Software Engineer to design, develop, and secure software for highly classified environments. You will craft Splunk dashboards and apps, automate workflows, and ensure compliance with RMF, JSIG, and TRA requirements.

Role emphasizes secure coding, vulnerability mitigation, and lifecycle engineering from concept to deployment and sustainment, with DoD-grade security controls and enterprise integration.

Qualifications

• BS/BA with 8+ years relevant experience; MS and 6+ years may substitute for degree
• Requires Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
• DoD 8140 Intermediate or Advanced certification (IAT II/IAT III or equivalent)
• 5+ years software engineering, cyber engineering, or secure system development
• Hands-on with Splunk Enterprise, Splunk ES, Splunk app development, and SPLUNK data onboarding
• Experience integrating Splunk with enterprise security tools

Responsibilities

• Implement, operate, and test advanced software security techniques in compliance with DoD architecture and mission requirements
• Engineer, customize, and optimize SPLUNK dashboards, apps, queries, and data ingestion pipelines
• Perform security testing, static/dynamic code analysis, and secure code reviews
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex software and SPLUNK issues in classified environments
• Design and develop new software solutions to mitigate vulnerabilities and enhance cyber defense
• Contribute to system and software architecture, data flows, security controls, and integration patterns
• Maintain technical documentation and security artifacts
• Consult on secure coding practices and SPLUNK best practices
• Develop familiarity with emerging tools and best practices to improve mission capabilities
• Support RMF, JSIG, and DoD cybersecurity controls and continuous monitoring
• Automate security and operational tasks using scripting, APIs, and SPLUNK automation
