Job summary

Byte Systems, a subsidiary of VTG, seeks a seasoned Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to support the Intelligence Community at our Herndon, VA office. You will design controls, lead RMF A&A activities, author SSPs in XACTA, and coordinate with developers to satisfy security requirements.

The ideal candidate has 9+ years in A&A with RMF, DoD 8140 baseline certifications, and TS/SCI with Poly, and must be onsite in a secure environment. AWS/Cloud and DevSecOps exposure are desired.

Qualifications

• Requires 9+ years in A&A and RMF processes with documented evidence.
• BS degree required; 7 years with a master; or 4 years additional experience in lieu of degree.
• Hands-on ability to validate control implementations and test procedures.
• Knowledge of current security risks and protocols; DoD 8140 baseline certifications.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement safety measures and controls; monitor network activity for vulnerabilities.
• Support A&A processes and IA documentation for multiple analytic and mission systems across CLINs.
• Lead RMF-based A&A activities and maintain BoE for all systems using RMF guidelines.
• Author and maintain SSP within XACTA; develop SCTM and STP procedures in XACTA.
• Analyze existing security systems; propose changes or improvements.
• Prepare reports and action plans for security breaches; monitor network for anomalies.
• Communicate system status and downtime to users; coordinate with developers and architects on security requirements.
• Develop and manage POA&Ms with project managers to mitigate open findings; support continuous monitoring of operations.
• Conduct log review/analysis using SIEM tools; perform vulnerability analysis with ACAS, Prisma, SonarQube, JFrog X-Ray, GitLab.
