Job summary

FTS International, LLC is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer in Chantilly, VA to deliver technical and program services to the US Government. Responsibilities include security authorization, vulnerability management, and cloud patching using STIGs and vendor guides.

Qualifications

• Must hold TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
• BS STEM in engineering.
• 9+ years of relevant experience in cyber security.
• Information security certifications: Security+, CISM, or CISSP.
• Experience with vulnerability assessment tools (Nessus, ACAS, SCAP).
• Scripting experience for automating patches and hardening tasks.
• Knowledge of NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support security authorization and continuous monitoring for assigned systems.
• Prepare and review security packages (SSPs, POA&Ms, artifacts).
• Apply STIGs and vendor hardening guides to secure OS and apps.
• Conduct regular vulnerability scans and remediation actions.
• Leverage cloud tooling for patching and hardening.
• Implement security controls (VLANs, firewalls, encryption).
• Maintain security documentation and track remediation status.
• Provide compliance updates and risk summaries in meetings.
