Job summary

The MITRE Corporation is seeking a Hard Targets Project Lead to direct complex cyber initiatives for sponsor missions. You will bridge research, development, and operational use, partnering with MITRE leadership, USCYBERCOM, and government agencies to ensure mission impact.

Based in the Annapolis Junction, MD area with on-site requirements, you will shape strategy, manage multidisciplinary teams, and drive deliverables, prototypes, and transition plans to campaign-ready capabilities.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or related technical field, or 8 years with a Master’s, or a PhD with 5 years’ experience.
• Self-starter with strong leadership and networking skills to reach back proactively into MITRE.
• Ability to work onsite in a SCIF at both MITRE Fort Meade and McLean sites, and attend sponsor engagements.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and technical leadership as a trusted advisor to USCYBERCOM.
• Define and execute project objectives based on sponsor priorities and transition plans.
• Develop transition strategies and readiness criteria for operational use of capabilities.
• Translate project objectives into actionable outcomes, deliverables, and plans.
• Guide integration of current and future Lines of Effort into a system-of-systems architecture.
• Build and maintain relationships with senior leadership and government personnel.
• Oversee staff and project administration, including scheduling, status reporting, and resources.
• Ensure quality through reviews and knowledge management.
