Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Cyber Operations Analyst to join our security operations team. You will monitor, detect and respond to cybersecurity threats in a fast-paced environment, leveraging AI-enabled solutions and a mix of SOAR/SIEM tools.

You will mentor junior analysts and help automate tasks to improve efficiency and threat detection across multiple technologies. The role requires experience across endpoints, cloud infrastructure, networks, and threat intel, with strong communication

Qualifications

• Experience in SOC monitoring and response.
• Working knowledge of ML and AI in security operations.
• Experience using NLP, queries and AI-powered tools to analyze logs and incidents.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a subject matter expert for a team of analysts supporting 24/7 monitoring and response.
• Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents, including off-hours and on-call rotations.
• Act as escalation point for day-to-day SOC operations and identify opportunities to automate.
• Assess program strengths and weaknesses and recommend AI solutions to improve team skills.
• Stay current on emerging cybersecurity threats and AI developments.
• Automate repetitive tasks within SOAR environments using Cloud, ML and AI.
• Develop detections aligned with MITRE ATT&CK and enhance with automation/AI.
• Validate alerts by interpreting confidence scores and risk ratings.
• Use NLP tools to analyze events alongside threat intelligence data.
• Collaborate with data science and engineering teams to improve AI models.
