Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Cyber Operations Analyst to monitor, detect, and respond to cybersecurity threats in a fast-paced environment. You will use a mix of commercial and open-source tools, including AI-powered solutions, to automate tasks and improve threat detection.

You will mentor junior analysts, support escalation workflows, and drive automated improvements across SOAR, SIEM, endpoints, and cloud infrastructure. Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in SOC monitoring and response.
• Experience using ML and AI in security operations.
• Experience using NLP to analyze logs and threat data.
• Hands-on with MCP servers and agents for investigations.
• Strong knowledge of Azure, AWS, and GCP; Gov Cloud a plus.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents, including off-hours and on-call rotations.
• Serve as escalation point for day-to-day SOC operations and identify automation opportunities.
• Develop detections aligned with MITRE ATT&CK and enhance with automation/AI.
• Collaborate with data science and engineering teams to improve AI models used in SOC operations.
• Report on SOC performance and posture to cybersecurity leaders.
