Job summary

MITRE is seeking an experienced Chief Engineer for the Acquisition Studies and Analysis Department to drive cyber assessment efforts across DoD programs. The role emphasizes leadership, strategic planning, and high-impact, data-driven cybersecurity evaluation.

The position requires a strong track record in cyber testing, robust communication with senior leaders, and the ability to work on-site with DoD collaborators. U.S. citizenship and a current clearance are required; TS/SCI is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; or 8 years with a Master's; or 5 years with a PhD.
• Experience with cyber security analysis, assessment, and test and evaluation for DoD and government.
• Active Secret U.S. Government security clearance; ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI.
• Minimum 3 days a week on-site.

Responsibilities

• Lead operational cyber assessment projects and D100 involvement for DOT&E CAP.
• Collaborate with combatant commands, services, and industrial control systems initiatives.
• Develop cyber T&E guidance for DevSecOps and digital engineering methodologies.
• Develop and manage project tasks, plans, and staffing requirements.
• Align with MITRE leadership to advance STRIDE and defense evaluation objectives.
