Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Cyber Forensics & Malware Analyst to conduct deep-dive investigations into cybersecurity incidents, digital media, and malicious software. You will identify, preserve, analyze, and present digital evidence while reverse-engineering malware to determine origin, capabilities, and impact on the enterprise network.

Qualifications

• Active Top-Secret/SCI security clearance
• GCFA certification
• ITIL Foundations Certification within 90 days
• Deep understanding of Defensive Cyber Operations
• Experience in cyber forensics and malware analysis

Responsibilities

• Conduct host-based and network-based forensic investigations to identify root cause and scope of compromise
• Collect, preserve, and analyze digital evidence from drives, memory, and logs
• Perform static and dynamic analysis of malicious binaries to identify IOCs and infrastructure
• Use debuggers, disassemblers, and virtualization tools to bypass packing/obfuscation
• Document technical findings in reports for technical and leadership audiences
• Assist in threat intelligence efforts and attribution to known threat actors
• Develop signatures (YARA, Snort) and mitigation strategies from findings
• Collaborate with security operations and incident response teams to harden defenses
• Lead development of training plans and mentor analysts in forensics processes
