Job summary

Intact Insurance U.S. is seeking a Claim Consultant to join our Cyber - E&O team on a hybrid schedule across multiple U.S. offices.

You will handle and resolve highly complex claims, evaluating coverage, liability and damages while coordinating with internal and external resources. The role requires 5+ years of specialized claims handling, with possible JD depending on unit needs. Base salary ranges reflect experienced professionals in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or equivalent experience degree required.
• JD may be required depending on the needs and requirements of a business unit.
• 5+ years of progressively more complex, specialized claims handling experience.
• Desired Experience working on complex Cyber - E&O Claims

Responsibilities

• Make timely contacts and conduct investigation to determine coverage, liability and damages for complex claims.
• Determine coverage and draft correspondence; respond to coverage questions raised by insureds and others.
• Assess exposure, establish reserves and adjust as required.
• Direct internal/external resources (adjusters, appraisers, attorneys) and identify questionable claims.
• Determine settlement value and negotiate within authority; provide recommendations for larger claims.
• Document all activities on files and propose next steps.
• Communicate with underwriting on trends and legal climate; advise on coverage changes.
• Maintain knowledge of regulatory environments and apply it.
• Stay updated on license requirements and continuing education.
• Coach and train less experienced adjusters.
• Develop and lead technical training; provide cross-department guidance.
