Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Sr Cybersecurity Engineer to join the Federal Strategic Cyber group, supporting 24x7 SOC operations from Chandler, AZ or Washington DC. You will design Zero Trust controls, integrate SIEM/SOAR/NDR, and advance cryptographic solutions, PKI, PQC, and GenAI security.

The role requires leading technical efforts and mentoring junior staff in a high-assurance environment. Ideal candidates have a Secret clearance, 10+ years in cybersecurity engineering or PM, and hands-on

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of relevant experience; Master's with 10+ years. Extra 4 years can substitute degree.
Minimum of 10 years in cybersecurity engineering or technical program management.
Minimum of 2 years of technical leadership experience.
One or more certifications: CISSP, CCSP, CCNA, CIS-ISSAP, CISSP-ISSEP, GIAC, SSCP, or Security+.
Hands-on with Zero Trust, Cloud, DevSecOps, SIEM, SOAR, NDR, PKI/PQC, AI/GenAI, and Mobile Security.

Responsibilities

Engineer and sustain security capabilities for 24x7 SOC monitoring, detection, and response.
Design and implement Zero Trust controls across enterprise, cloud, mobile, and hybrid environments.
Integrate and optimize SIEM, SOAR, and NDR platforms to improve detection and response.
Support secure cloud, DevSecOps, and CI/CD architectures and automation.
Engineer cryptographic and identity solutions, including PKI and PQC.
Support security engineering for AI/GenAI-enabled systems.
Provide Tier III engineering support and lead complex SOC incidents.
Mentor engineers and drive continuous SOC capability improvement.
