Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to support the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (PNSY) Information Technology Programs for the Dept of the Navy. This role focuses on monitoring, detecting, and responding to cybersecurity threats using HBSS and SIEM, coordinating remediation and improving security posture.

Work is on-site in Kittery, ME, with travel up to 10% and a required Active Secret Clearance. Responsibilities include vulnerability scanning, VM management, incident response, and on-site

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and eight years of experience, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with DoD standard tools for vulnerability scans.
• Knowledge of vulnerability management and endpoint security technologies.

Responsibilities

• Scan Utilize DoD standard software tools to conduct vulnerability scans of all equipment on the PSNS and IMF network for vulnerabilities.
• Vulnerability Management (VM) Assist local Systems Administrators in maintaining positive VM control of systems under their control.
• Incident Response Assist with the identification, protection, detection, response, and recovery of cybersecurity incidents, and coordinate incident response and reporting processes.
• HBSS configuration, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of endpoint security technologies, ensuring policy compliance.
• SIEM configuration, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of sensor platforms.
• NNPP Assist with maintaining VM and endpoint compliance.
• Provide on-site support including basic network administration and ship cable maintenance with COMSEC at PNSY.
