Job summary

BOOST LLC is seeking a Senior Cyber Architect to partner with stakeholders and engineers to design and deliver enterprise cloud architectures. The role ensures scalable, secure, cost-effective solutions across hybrid/multi-cloud environments, with active Secret clearance and DoD context.

Responsibilities include defining target architectures, supporting end-to-end solution design, and providing technical leadership across CI/CD and IaC. Travel to customer sites may be required.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years in IT overall with progressive information security responsibilities.
  • 5+ years in cyber security operations; Navy experience highly desired.
  • 3+ years applying AI/ML to cyber security use cases.
  • Proven DoD cloud and multi-cloud design/implementation experience.
  • Hands-on with modern architectures: APIs, microservices, containers, serverless.
  • Experience in large DoD enterprise environments across domains.
  • Familiarity with Agile, DevSecOps, or ITIL practices.
  • Ability to run workshops and interview technical staff for requirements.
  • Ability to operate in ambiguous environments and document plans.

  • Lead end-to-end solution design for major initiatives, ensuring security and standards.
  • Collaborate with system engineers to design resilient cloud hosting and networking.
  • Develop migration strategies and reference architectures for key capabilities.
  • Provide technical leadership on architecture, automation, CI/CD, and IaC.
  • Partner with security/compliance to meet data protection and IAM requirements.
  • Review designs and provide feedback/approvals for delivery teams.
  • Create architecture artifacts and diagrams for cross-team consumption.
  • Lead the implementation of approved designs and document the as-is environment.

Job Description

Seeking an experienced Senior Cyber Architect to partner with business stakeholders, business analysts, system engineers, and infrastructure teams to design and deliver enterprise cloud application architectures, strategies, and roadmaps. This role will ensure our customer’s application portfolio is scalable, secure, cost effective, and aligned with their business goals across their hybrid and multi cloud environments.

Work will be performed remote from employee home, at corporate offices in Chesapeake, VA and customer site in Suffolk, VA.

Some travel may be required.

Active Secret clearance required.

Primary responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with product/solution owners, business teams, and analysts to help translate business strategies and requirements into solution architectures and application roadmaps.
  • Define and document target architectures and patterns for enterprise applications.
  • Support end to end solution design for major initiatives, ensuring consistency with enterprise architecture principles, security policies, and infrastructure standards.
  • Work closely with system engineers and infrastructure/support teams to design resilient, observable, and performant cloud hosting, networking, and integration models.
  • Support the development and maintenance of cloud adoption roadmaps, migration strategies, and reference architectures for key business capabilities and platforms.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering and DevOps teams on architecture best practices, automation, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.
  • Partner with security and compliance teams to ensure solutions meet regulatory, data protection, and identity/access management requirements.
  • Review solution designs, integration approaches, and implementation plans produced by delivery teams, providing feedback and approvals.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of clear architecture artifacts, including diagrams, standards, and decision records for cross team consumption.
  • Lead the implementation of approved solution designs.
  • Work with technical staff to help document the “as-is” environment
Experience/Skills:
  • 15+ years overall IT experience.
  • 5+ years in cyber security operations role, experience with Navy highly desired.
  • 3+ years’ experience leveraging AI/ML technologies in support of cyber security role.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing cyber security solutions in DoW cloud environment; multi cloud experience desired.
  • Hands on knowledge of modern application architectures (APIs, microservices, containers, serverless, event driven patterns) and integration approaches.
  • Experience working with or within large DoW enterprise environment, collaborating with multiple domains (applications, data, infrastructure, security).
  • Knowledge of Agile, DevSecOps, or ITIL environments.
  • Experience running workshops or interviews with technical staff to gather content.
  • Ability to operate in ambiguous environments, perform discovery, and propose a structured plan to get from “unknown current state” to a well-documented capability.
  • Strong communication skills capable of communicating technical concepts to senior leadership and customer stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross functional teams.
Education Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer engineering, Systems Engineering or related field
  • Equivalent additional work experience may be considered in lieu of degree (+4 years)

DoD 8140 System Administrator role certification (candidate must have, or obtain, at least one of the following within 90 days of starting position)

The anticipated salary range for this role is $170,000 to $200,000 annually. The anticipated salary range for this position is provided in accordance with applicable pay transparency laws. The final starting salary will be determined based on a variety of job-related factors, including the selected candidate's qualifications, skills, relevant experience, education, certifications, and work location (where applicable), as well as internal equity and market considerations
